Ooredoo Oman CEO resigns

Greg YoungIn a statement to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM), the Board of Directors of Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company SAOG (Ooredoo) said that he had “resigned from the company effective yesterday”. Prior to Young joining Ooredoo Oman as CEO in October 2013 he was CEO of Sri Lanka Telecom.

“The Board has accepted his resignation and has also announced that Jörgen Latte, the company’s chief financial officer, will serve as an acting chief executive officer for an interim period, until the Board appoints a new chief executive officer,” the statement added.

Latte has been Ooredoo’s CFO since October 2009 and has over two decades of financial and managerial experience in the telecommunications sector, with 15 years in stand-alone CFO roles for mobile services companies and additional prior experience at TeliaSonera and Tele2. He also has experience from the Swedish Baltic and Nasdaq exchanges. GTB
